2019, in Books
Here’s what I read this year.
I’ve always loved reading. And I’ve always loved the challenge of seeing how many books I could read in a year. Before this last year, I’d always done that through Goodreads.
There are some good things about Goodreads, but it felt like it was too much for me. It isn’t something that I really wanted to go out of my way to use. So, for 2019, I used a much simpler system.
I used a notebook. One of the many I’d received for Christmas (this one is Harry Potter themed), and, when I finished the book, I’d write down the date, the author, and the title.
Most of the books I read this year were audiobooks. I love audiobooks. As an actor, I love the element of performance that goes into them. There’s this magical combination of story and acting that blend together into such a wonderful experience.
I also re-read a lot. I’m able to kind of bury myself into a cycle of rereading books. This year was the first time that I’ve had the income to treat myself to more new books. Though part of me wonders if I’ve overdone it. (Though I will admit, many of these might be titles I’ve checked out through Audible Escape.)
