After going through so much of the purity culture stuff around sex, I can’t imagine ever being comfortable about it or around discussion of it. It’s just . . . ingrained into my own personal character. I think a lot of my upbringing has done a lot to strip away my identity as a person — I never got to establish myself with clothes or in relationships, or by being able to do things. Only in dreams, through words, with books.

I wish things had been different. I wish I had the confidence, the mental ability, the wherewithal to move on, to heal and grow the way you have. To be able to experience that part of the human experience in all of that joys and wonders. But it wasn’t meant to be in this lifetime.

As difficult as it is for me to read about this, I appreciate getting an insight. Thank you. ❤
