Everything in this article is based on real things that I’ve seen in Pam’s inbox. I couldn’t make this stuff up!

Not only are agents terribly busy with their agenting work, but so many of them have to work day jobs or other side hustles, especially if they’re not part of and drawing a salary from a big NYC agency.

So many queries I’ve seen are exactly that: a waste of time. There is so much advice out on the internet on query writing; I can say that maybe only 1 in 5 people who query actually follow any of it. Frustrating, to say the least.

And Pam is definitely not a pearl-clutcher when it comes to vocab. But some agents I’ve seen and queried definitely are.
