God, I am so weary of all of this stuff. All of these lectures and masterclasses and gurus. Ugh.

For the longest time, I thought it was just a distinction between me and everybody else trying to build a following on the internet, namely, that, for me, even $300, $500, $1000 is a LOT of money to spend on a lecture/masterclass/package etc.

“But it’s worth it!” “But you’ll make it back!” “You have to spend some to make some!”

I’ve always assumed that these stupefying sums are just pocket change for these people who jump in; that my poverty has made me déclassé when it came to this kind of stuff. To the point where I’d become fairly certain that the problem was with me.

It’s nice to have a little bit of reassurance that this is, indeed, a whole lot of bullshit. Though I do wish I’d gotten in on the grift.
