I never thought I would be able to learn how to drive a car. Until I did. It wasn’t as hard as i thought it would be, though I wouldn’t say it was easy, either. And I don’t trust that I’m all that good a driver.

What pisses me off, though, is that driving isn’t the panacea that I thought it would be. It costs so goddamn much money just to drive — the DMV nonsense, with fees every few months up the wazoo, putting gas in the car, keeping the car maintained, and, God forbid something actually goes wrong with the car. I still ended up housebound with a car because — this shit’s just too much.

I hope you hear from Ellen and you can get that miracle. I’ve hoped for the same from her.
