Interesting thoughts, for sure.

All I can say, is that Medium pays me. I don’t have to create infrastructure or build a mailing list or anything like that. I write things, Medium pays me.

It sounds like you have other systems in place, and that’s a great thing. But I don’t — and I need a somewhat reliable source of income now — not later, not in 20 years once I finally get a million or two people on my list.

For now, Medium provides that. I know that it probably won’t forever, and that scares the hell out of me.

But when you have nothing, you have to get what you can. You don’t get the luxury of thinking or planning long-term. You do what gets you money now.

Still, I always appreciate having another perspective on the thing.
