My Top Five Ideas for Stage Adaptations
I think about theatre a lot.
I love theatre, even if I’m not very good at the music part of things. My voice is regrettable, and my instrumental skills are about as good as someone who wasn’t forced by a parent to spend a large chunk of their childhood sitting down with an instrument. Which is to say, terrible.
But, I digress.
I’ve loved the idea of writing for the stage for a while now. Even though I don’t do it a lot. There’s something about the practical element of the thing — once the script is written, what do I do with it? I haven’t mastered the part of things where a stageplay goes from sitting finished on a hard drive to where it becomes something real, with actors and musicians, and a stage, and a place to be.
If I knew how to do that, I’d probably write more. I’d definitely write down all of these ideas that have been floating around in my head, some of them for a long time now.
Yes, most of them are jukebox musicals. Yes, I know that some people are snobbish about jukebox musicals. I have two words for those people: MERYL STREEP.
Thank you, next.
Anyway, here are my shows.
