This is a difficult thing for me, but it is so necessary. Being raised by a family with no money, no respect for art or ingenuity or doing anything other than working a dead-end job, watching TV, and going to sleep makes it so that you don’t toot your own horn a lot. I’ve only recently begun to un-learn the idea that nobody wants to hear what I have to say. And it’s hard.
