I have to admit, I always wanted to see a psychic. Even when I was young and an Evangelical and technically wasn’t supposed to want that. I know that she’s a hack, but there was a time where I was really impressed by Sylvia Browne’s books, too. I always wanted some kind of prophecy, some kind of surety, some kind of knowing that things were going to be okay.

I don’t know if I still want that. I mean, I know I’m not going to get the happy ending or life I wanted, so that magic’s kind of gone. But yeah. I could have definitely used a prophecy guiding my life.
