This made me think of Tycho Brahe. At first, he was only a reference in one of my favorite poems, but once I learned about him in Astronomy class, it really clicked — and made me love the poem all the more.

Basically, he made a whole bunch of discoveries and observation of the stars, but what he’s best known for, perhaps (other than his fake nose) is that his observations set the groundwork for his pupil, Kepler, and his laws of motion.

He’s not the star. If he has any laws named after him, I sure don’t know about them. But he sure as hell had a vision, and did everything (including some not entirely great things) to dig them out.
